Introduction

Welcome to the documentation for BuiltSearch IV, it represents IFC Validator. It is designed to help you validate IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) model elements against a set of rules, ensuring the integrity of your model’s data.

Whether you’re an architect, engineer, or anyone involved in inputting data into a BIM model, we’re here to help you ensure data accuracy and compliance.

What is IFC

IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) is an open, international standard for building information modeling (BIM) data. Developed by buildingSMART, IFC defines a standardized format for representing and exchanging information related to building and construction projects, such as architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical data.

Why Validate IFC

IFC files can be complex, containing a vast number of elements. While we take care to insert data accurately for each element, errors such as typos, missing values, or export issues are easy to overlook. Validating your IFC model ensures that the data you’ve modeled in your BIM software aligns with what’s being submitted, reducing the risk of errors and ensuring consistency throughout the process.

What is CORENET X

CORENET X is a collaborative initiative between public agencies and the industry in Singapore aimed at transforming regulatory practices through process re-engineering and the adoption of innovative technologies. With BIM submissions now required in IFC format, adhering to the IFC+SG data standards.

What is IFC+SG

IFC+SG is a set of data standards specifically designed for Singapore’s built environment, ensuring that BIM submissions comply with Singapore regulatory requirements. Building on the IFC standard, it introduces additional requirements and constraints to maintain data accuracy and consistency with local regulations.

BuiltSearch IV comes with pre-configured IFC+SG requirements, allowing you to validate your IFC models against IFC+SG standards without any additional setup.
